Profiles
-
Computational postdocs: you are expected to have deep understanding of calculus, statistics and/or basic machine learning methods. You are expected to have a good grasp of biology and understanding of basic bioinformatics methods, e.g. sequence alignment, protein structure analysis. Excellent coding skills in Python and knowledge of PyTorch is required. We do consider candidates with different backgrounds on occasion and depending on lab priorities and available projects.
-
Wetlab postdocs: you are expected to have significant experience in protein production with either microbial (P. pastoris, S. cerevisiae) or mammalian systems (CHO, HEK), including DNA delivery techniques (transformation, transfection, nucleofection), constructs design, culture condition optimisation. Experience with lysosomal biology and genome engineering is highly valued. We do also consider candidates with primary expertise in biochemical protein purification, characterisation and assay development.
-
Computational graduate student: we consider candidate with a background in informatics, mathematics, computational biology, physics and closely related disciplines. You are expected to have deep understanding of calculus, statistics and/or basic machine learning methods. Excellent coding skills in Python and basic understanding of biology is required. We do consider candidates with different backgrounds, but please reflect on what your goals are and how your skills fit with this profile.
-
Wetlab graduate student: we consider candidate with a background in molecular biology, engineering biology and biotechnology. You are expected to have have a good understanding of molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and basic medical concepts. Basic experience in either yeast or mammalian experience is required. We do consider candidates with different backgrounds, but please reflect on what your goals are and how your skills fit with this profile.
How to apply
- Postdocs: Email Dr Stracquadanio your CV, 1 recent research article, 1-page statement with your i) research experience, ii) your current research interests and iii) how you fit and can contribute to the team. Please, arrange 2 reference letters to be sent directly to Dr Stracquadanio.
- PhD students: Email Dr Stracquadanio your CV, 1-page statement describing i) your research interests, ii) how your formal training would allow you to succeed as a graduate student, and iii) how you would fit with the lab. Please, arrange 1 reference letter to be sent directly to Dr Stracquadanio.
- Undergraduate students: We welcome undergraduate and post-graduate students to join the team to get research experience. However, to be productive, students should have already taken relevant programming, mathematics or bioinformatics modules.
